New found friend Benjamin was kind enough to take me here yesterday [Oct 31st]. Again he came to collect me and we went to the same station, this time heading out of town some 30Km or so, and this time on a Saturday, so the train was busier than last sunday though nowhere near the normal daytime weekday activity. It’s just not possible to describe adequately the fight that’s necessary to get on and off the trains in Mumbai, but I will attempt to describe the experience in more detail separately – watch for a future entry entitled ‘Train Maffia’ coming to a blog near you! I’ll also describe the trip to the caves in more detail separately, as I have to prepare for an all day workshop for around 60-70 people tomorrow – Yikes! There are pictures up on FB though. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jerrisimo/sets/72157622556640593/ Whilst we were there, Bollywood was obviously preparing for something, as there were cameras, lights & mirrors, air-cooling fans and all the film world paraphernalia on the wide-enough horizontal rock ledge at the top of the first climb. We found out who was involved as we finished our visit and were headed down the same slope – the {seemingly} famous Indian Film actress {and Miss World?} Ashwayria Bhachan and her hubby Abishek Bhachan graced out presence by walking right past us without even an acknowledgement! Benjamin remarked afterwards that they looked much smaller in real life, and the black-shirted uniformly cloned body guards surrounding their entourage did not appreciate B’s attempt to take a sneaky snapshot as they were past us and almost out of range.
